What to watch this November: here are the most expected shows

Remember The Crown? Excited about the new Addams Family spin-off? Get ready for the best shows this November, from the comfort of your home.

SAS: Rogue Heroes

From the famous creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight, you get to see this autumn an action series set during World War Two. It's called SAS: Rogue Heroes and it's been much expected by fans of Knight. The series is based on Ben MacIntyre's book but it's adapted to a fictitious interpretation of how Britain's special forces squad, the Special Air Service, was created. The war motion, full of explosions and much desert sand, starts in Egypt in 1941, where Lieutenant David Stirling repulsed by military failure, makes a group of misfits go after rival lines. His mates are Paddy Mayne, Jock Lewes, and Dominic West. You will see mainly men consuming whisky and being fearless. The series is already available on BBC iPlayer in the UK and it premiers on 13 November in the US.

Wednesday

Not a fan of Hogwarts? Then Wednesday Addams might be your cuppa tea! And we're going absolutely insane for this series that has been much anticipated. Wednesday is now the teenage daughter of the most bizarre family ever, wearing all black. In the show, Wednesday goes to the academy of misfits where she follows high school. Executive producer and the director is none other than Tim Burton - a master in spooky and funny movies like Edward Scissorhands. Jenna Ortega recreates the famous role of Wednesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, and Christina Ricci - yes, she was the original Wednesday in 1991 - plays a Nevermore teacher. In the series, you'll find pieces of reality like therapy, parenting, and school plots. Plus, Wednesday will be a detective and solve murders. Be prepared for it on 23 November, Netflix.

Dangerous Liaisons

If you're not familiar with the 18th-century masterpiece - Les Liaisons Dangereuses - you are in for a treat this November. Because this story is based on a deliciously wicked story of sexual intrigue, with Marquise de Merteuil and Valmont - her ex-lover, plotting to corrupt a harmless young lady just to amuse themselves. The story is long-lasting it has even inspired a play, and diverse movie performances, which you probably know if you've seen Cruel Intentions, the 1999 movie starring Glen Close, Annette Bening, and Jeanne Moreau. This unique, lavishly created series is a prequel set in Paris, in 1783 when la contessa and Valmont were young lovers, poor and not precisely blameless or innocent. Dangerous Liaisons premieres on 6 November in the US and the UK.

The Crown

The fictional dramatization - noted by Netflix and published with the new trailer for the 5th season, put a descriptive phrase beneath the trailer for the new season, states yet another era of Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family. The series shocks the world again, and Dame Judi Dench even calls it "crude sensationalism". Which emphasizes how this new installment couldn't land at a more susceptible period or with a more sensitive subject. Season 5 is set in the 1990s. It is the time when Prince Charles and Princess Diana's marriage starts to crumble in the public eye. Imelda Staunton takes the role of Olivia Colman as the Queen, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker-Bowles. As for Princes Diana, she is played by Elizabeth Debecki. It will be interesting to see someone playing the Queen after her death. The creator of the series admitted that this is a love letter to the queen, and The Crown season 5 starts on 9 November on Netflix.

1899

If you've seen "Dark" you might have a slight idea of what 1899 will be about, but the subject of this series is still unclear. One thing's for sure: it looks like it's going to be a supernatural horror story. The creators of Dark, Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, are behind this series in which a ship packed with European immigrants runs from London to the US and crosses a long-time missing ship in the Atlantic. But there are weirder things happening than your regular ship adventure, and we don't know exactly what. From the trailer, you could only say it's going to be a horror. It premiers on 17 November, on Netflix.

Welcome to Chippendales

Got a taste for true crime? This drama is based on the real-life story of the rise of Somen 'Steve' Banerjee, who founded Chippendales, the insanely thriving male strip club for ladies. The leader is played by Kumail Nanjiani and tells his story starting with the gas station. He teams up with infamous members of the series. But the series is packed with 80s disco flamboyance. Robert Siegel - the series creator, was behind Pam & Tommy. This show premieres on 22 November in the US and on 11 January in the UK.
