Sneak peek inside Brad Pitt's real estate investments

Brad Pitt’s has many achievements: 7 Academy Award nominations, a famous wine label, the title of Sexiest Man Alive among others. But he is also talented when it comes to real estate investments. The actor has mentioned before about his love for architecture and interior design and he even told Oprah a few years ago that architecture is art. In 2012, he collaborated on a collection with furniture designer Frank Pollaro, and two years ago, he narrated a documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright. It is no surprise that he has bought some stunning houses.

Over the years, the actor has owned houses in Hollywood, Mallorca, New York City, the south of France, and New Orleans. There are rumors of cores that he also has property in Missouri but let's take a look at some of Brad Pitt's investments.

Just after his successful role as a charismatic hitchhiker in Thelma & Louise, the actor bought a mansion in Los Feliz for $1.7 million, from Cassandra Peterson, the Mistress of the Dark. During the next years, Pitt selected two properties to expand the compound and purchased two more after getting together with Angelina Jolie. This 1.9-acre property cost a total of nearly $5 million and today, it includes a Craftsman main house, a big swimming pool, a skate park, and a tennis pavilion.

After this, the actor enrolled the German architecture company Graft to create a Zen Hollywood Hills escape. But he was the one who made the interior design. The residence features secret frames and cabinets to maximize storage and reduce clutter. Brad Pitt still owns this house.

After their marriage to Jennifer Aniston, the actor spent $4 million on a house near the ocean, in Santa Barbara. This residence near Gaviota State Park was used by Brad and Angelina as a vacation retreat because it's close to the beach and offers a lot of opportunities for the kids.

The marital home of Aniston and Brad was a unique mansion designed by Wallace Neff, that was renovated over three years by the couple. Originally, the house was built in 1934 for actor Fredric March and Florence Eldridge. New features of the house were a bar with wood floors, heated marble floors, and a screening room. When the couple divorced, they put the property on the market and sold it for $28 million.

The actor then spent $8.4 million on a midcentury residence in Malibu, placed between Point Mugu State Park and the sea. This is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom home with three fireplaces and access to a tennis court. In 2011, Ellen DeGeneres bought it but flipped it a year later. Pitt and Jolie also bought a house in New Orleans, in the French Quarter after Hurricane Katrina. At the same time, the actor created a nonprofit organization called Make It Right Foundation. The couple paid $3.5 million for the traditional-style house originally built in the 1830s. It had crown moldings and marble mantles.

A year later, the couple purchased a home in New York City at the famed Waldorf Astoria hotel. The price is still unknown for this luxury unit. One thing was said, that this place is significant because it was one of the couple's first places for meeting up. Then, the couple put their eyes on international real estate. At first,t they just rented but then they bought a villa in the French countryside. The Château Miraval, a $60 million estate has a château and a winery and this is where the brand was also created and started to make wines. In 2014, the couple had their wedding there, and after their divorce, the actor was still involved with the brand. When the actor shot Allied, the World War II drama, he and Angelina paid $3.9 million for a private villa in Mallorca, Spain. Media reported that this residence has 8 bedrooms and a swimming pool but it is not known if Brad Pitt still has this luxury residence. At the same time, the couple also rented a house in England on the Thames, in Surrey and the rent was $21,000 a month. This house also had an indoor pool but the couple split just after this period.
